Last week, as a wonderful birthday gift, Baby G decided to make his/her presence known by giving me a few good kicks while driving in the car!
I'm guessing this child will be a really good soccer player, or a kick boxer. Or, I might need to figure out what I'm doing to annoy it so much it kicks me day and night!
This week makes seventeen weeks! I can't believe we're almost half way there! It seems to be flying by. And I can't believe how big our little Baby G is now! 5-6 inches!
How far along? 17 Weeks
Total weight gain/loss: 10 lbs! Hopefully it's all belly!Maternity clothes? Absolutely! I'll never go back to real clothes again! Spandex pants and shirts are heaven...
Stretch marks? Nope
Sleep: Wonderful. Let's keep that up!
Best moment this week: Kicking, kicking and more kicking! I LOVE the feeling!
Miss Anything? Lettuce. Believe it or not.
Movement: Lots and Lots!
Food cravings: Sushi and Slurpees!
Anything making you queasy or sick: Lettuce! And heartburn...again.
Have you started to show yet: Definitely some talk around the water cooler at work with all our parents!
Gender prediction: I honestly have NO clue! Everyone else seems to think BOY!
Wedding rings on or off? On
Happy or Moody most of the time: Mostly happy. It's true you start to feel really good in your 2nd trimester!
Looking forward to: So ready to know if it's a boy or girl!

So I've gotten the bug to start crafting things for the nursery. I found this on Pinterest, and fell in love! After scouring the web, this isn't available for purchase nor is there direction on how to make it! Bummer! So my wonderful sister and I scoured the web for the letters (at least) to begin and nothing. It comes from the blog The Lettered Cottage circa 2008.
Lo and behold, while looking for Gender Party ideas at Michael's today, look what I found! Just hanging out on an end cap of an aisle. NICE!
I found some white acrylic paint (easy) and a sponge and got to work, hoping wax paper will help them come off easier than getting black newspaper stuck to my nice, crisp, white letters. I'll let you know how that turns out!
All done! Now we just have to wait for Jose to get home to get some lumber for the boards and the blue wood stain =) So excited this is finally coming together after much searching!
So one more idea to make our first pregnancy extra fun, we're going to have a Gender Reveal Party! It's not really common yet (I guess?) but I've found several cute ideas on how to make it fun! The main event will be the cake cutting. We'll have the ultrasound technician write down the gender from our ultrasound on July 11, put it in a sealed envelope and deliver it to the bakery.
The baker will fill the cake with either blue or pink frosting. Finally, at the party, we'll all find out together whether Little Baby G is a boy or a girl!

I LOVE IT ALL! So excited to see the finished sign and for the gender reveal so I can start crafting for my niece or nephew!!!
